Kilimanjaro. 5,895m. The Roof of Africa. Uhuru Peak. Call it what you like — this iconic lone giant dominates the African horizon like no other mountain on earth. One of the celebrated 7 Summits, it's a bucket-list challenge that rewards those willing to commit to the journey.
We love the Lemosho Route. Approaching from the west, it winds through arid lowlands before opening up onto the spectacular Shira Plateau — moorlands dotted with Giant Groundsels, those extraordinary plants found nowhere else on the planet. From here we pass the dramatic Lava Tower and tackle the thrilling Barranco Wall, before pulling on head torches and heading for the summit under a canopy of stars.
There's nothing quite like that moment at the top. Time to breathe, to reflect, to take it all in — before descending through lush tropical rainforest back to the warmth of camp. Everyone who climbs 'Kili' takes something special away with them: jaw-dropping sunsets over the vast African plains, a landscape that transforms completely from one day to the next, the infectious energy of our brilliant support team, and above all, that immense sense of pride.
This is a fully supported expedition — achievable for anyone with a solid base fitness and a genuine sense of adventure. Our carefully planned itinerary gives you the time to acclimatise properly, soak up the mountain, and give yourself the very best chance of standing on the summit.
